Ethical Committee
Ethical Committee
Worldwide Academia International Research Journal (WAIRJ) maintains an Ethical Committee to oversee and ensure compliance with publication ethics, research integrity, and academic standards across all stages of manuscript handling.
1. Purpose of the Ethical Committee
The Ethical Committee is responsible for reviewing and addressing concerns related to research misconduct, plagiarism, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, and other ethical issues that may arise during manuscript submission, review, or post-publication.
2. Composition
The Ethical Committee comprises senior editorial board members, subject-matter experts, and the Editor-in-Chief, who collectively evaluate and decide on matters referred to them.
3. Responsibilities
- Reviewing complaints or concerns regarding plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification
- Investigating disputes related to authorship or contributor credit
- Evaluating conflict-of-interest disclosures from authors and reviewers
- Assessing cases requiring manuscript correction, retraction, or rejection on ethical grounds
- Ensuring compliance with the journal's Ethics Policy and Plagiarism Policy
4. Investigation Process
When an ethical concern is raised, the Ethical Committee conducts a fair and confidential review, which may include seeking clarification from the concerned author(s), consulting relevant guidelines (such as COPE — Committee on Publication Ethics), and reaching a decision based on evidence.
5. Decisions and Actions
Based on its findings, the Ethical Committee may recommend:
- Manuscript rejection or retraction
- Formal correction or erratum
- Written communication to the author's institution (in serious cases)
- Barring the author from future submissions to WAIRJ
6. Confidentiality
All matters reviewed by the Ethical Committee are treated with strict confidentiality to protect the interests of all parties involved until a final decision is reached.
7. Reporting to the Ethical Committee
Any reader, author, or reviewer who wishes to report an ethical concern regarding a submitted or published manuscript may contact the committee at editor@worldwideacademia.in, providing relevant details and supporting evidence.
