Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

Worldwide Academia International Research Journal (WAIRJ) maintains a strict, zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism and all forms of academic misconduct. Authors submitting manuscripts to WAIRJ are expected to ensure complete originality of their work.

1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the use of another person's ideas, words, data, images, or results without proper acknowledgment or permission, and presenting them as one's own original work — whether intentional or unintentional.

2. Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts submitted to WAIRJ are screened using plagiarism-detection tools during the editorial and review process to verify originality before acceptance and publication.

3. Acceptable Similarity Index
Manuscripts with a similarity index within acceptable academic limits (excluding references, quotations, and common terminology) may be considered for review. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable threshold will be returned to the authors or rejected.

4. Types of Plagiarism Covered

  • Direct/Verbatim Plagiarism – copying text without citation
  • Paraphrasing Plagiarism – rewording others' work without credit
  • Self-Plagiarism – reusing one's own previously published work without disclosure
  • Mosaic Plagiarism – mixing copied phrases with original content without attribution
  • Data Fabrication/Falsification – presenting altered or invented data as genuine

5. Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage — before or after publication — WAIRJ reserves the right to take one or more of the following actions:

  • Reject the manuscript
  • Retract the published article
  • Notify the author's institution
  • Bar the author from future submissions to WAIRJ

6. Author Responsibility
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is original, properly cited, and free from any form of plagiarism. Any third-party content (text, data, images) must be used only with appropriate permission and citation.

7. Reporting Plagiarism
If any reader, reviewer, or author identifies suspected plagiarism in a published or submitted manuscript, they may report it to the editorial team at editor@worldwideacademia.in for investigation.
